Frailty dynamics, dementia severity progression, and modelling the future of
care services for older people in the UK

   Proposal Description:
   I wish to test my hypothesis that cognitive and functional decline with   dementia can be modelled using multi-variate longitudinal regression of           clinical metric total scores (MMSE, MOCA, CDRSB, FAQ, etc.), using NACC UDS       data sets.                                                                        Trajectory modelling, over years with dementia, is in contrast and                complementary to the more commonly published dementia severity-state              conceptualisations (e.g. Markov-type models).                                     The resulting regression models will then be used to explore scenarios in a       population-level computer simulation model to determine the scope and variety     healthcare services needed for people with dementia. The simulation results       will be used to support care services commissioners and care providers to         better plan and prepare for care needs in ageing populations.
